WHO Regional Office for Europe and TB Europe Coalition Signed Memorandum of Understanding

Building on years of reliable cooperation between the TB Europe Coalition and the WHO Regional Office for Europe, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed.


The document outlines plans to scale up activities and strengthen partnerships in countries of the WHO European Region, particularly on the following issues:

  • Launching and implementing the WHO Multisectoral Accountability Framework to End TB to ensure a comprehensive, people-centered approach and address the determinants of the disease.
  • Supporting the adaptation of the Standardized package of community-based support services to improve TB outcomes in countries to improve TB treatment and prevention outcomes, as well as ensuring and expanding free access to a joint online course covering all 12 supportive services and the methodology for their calculation.
  • Providing support in data collection based on new WHO indicators to measure the level of civil society and community involvement in national TB elimination efforts.
  • Promoting the participation of civil society and community members in national TB elimination efforts, including involvement in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of national strategic plans.
  • Expanding opportunities for representatives of CSOs and communities to participate in reviews of national TB programs organized by WHO to support more inclusive and effective TB elimination efforts.

    We continue to develop strategic cooperation and strengthen the voice of civil society for the faster elimination of tuberculosis and other socially dangerous diseases in the region!
