On October 15, a webinar was held focusing on modern approaches to tuberculosis diagnostics using next-generation sequencing (NGS).
The event, organized by ECTB in collaboration with ITPC EECA, brought together around 100 participants from the EECA region.
Andrey Golubov, Head of Research and Development and Project Manager at the Institute of Microbiology and Laboratory Medicine (IML), WHO Supranational Reference Laboratory for Tuberculosis (Gauting, Germany), gave a detailed presentation on NGS technology. This technology is ushering in a new era in TB diagnostics and is widely used globally for the rapid and accurate detection of TB drug resistance.
The webinar recording is available at: https://youtu.be/CasFY-DXJ5g
We believe that the knowledge gained about the capabilities of NGS will help activists and experts in the region better navigate modern approaches and engage more effectively with national TB programs and international partners.
The webinar was co-funded by Unitaid as part of the “COMBAT DR-TB” project.
