The webinar “The DR-TB Care Cascade Gaps We Keep Missing: The Evidence Communities Need to Shape Stronger Funding Priorities” took place on May 13, 2026. The event was organized by the TB Europe Coalition together with its country partners, SMIT (Moldova) and KNCV Tajikistan, within the interregional COMBAT DR-TB project funded by Unitaid.
During the webinar, which brought together around 60 participants, the following topics were discussed:
- The theory of the TB care cascade and practical approaches to working with cascade data
- Stages of the cascade where people with TB are lost, the possible reasons for these losses, and potential interventions to minimize them
- Practical approaches to using cascade data in strategic planning and in developing more effective, patient-centred interventions for Global Fund funding requests
Mikhail Volik spoke about what the DR-TB care cascade reveals and how countries can use this data when preparing applications to the Global Fund. Following this, Yuliia Kalancha shared recommendations on developing stronger and more effective civil society interventions for Global Fund funding requests.
As part of the session “Community-Led DR-TB Care Cascade Analysis: Practical Lessons and Insights,” participants learned about practical experiences in conducting and analyzing the TB care cascade in Moldova and Tajikistan. Our country partners, Oxana Rucșineanu and Obidjon Norov, presented the most important findings of the analysis and shared their recommendations.
We would like to thank all speakers for their expertise and insightful presentations, and all participants for their active engagement and interest in this important TB-related topic.
