On 22 September 2026, the webinar “Developing Peer Support for People Affected by TB: Country Plans in the WHO European Region” was held, bringing together more than 55 participants. The event was organized by the LHL International Tuberculosis Foundation in partnership with the TB Europe Coalition (TBEC) and the Latvian Society against Tuberculosis (LTBAB), with financial support from the Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services.
Moderated by Mona Drage, Director of the LHL International Tuberculosis Foundation, the webinar provided an opportunity to discuss:
- Plans for developing peer support approaches and steps already taken towards their implementation in Latvia and Ukraine;
- A joint SIDA application focused on training and capacity building for peer counsellors in Sweden, Poland, Ukraine and Germany;
- Overall plans for developing peer support in Sweden, Finland and Estonia.
