The Public Health Center of Ukraine, in collaboration with national and regional partners, including the TBEC, has developed the Procedure for providing medical-psychosocial support services to individuals with drug-sensitive and multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, as well as the Methodology for calculating the cost of these services and determining the maximum tariff for the services.
Despite the ongoing war, the Procedure for providing services and the Methodology for their calculation have already been approved and registered with the Ministry of Justice. The approval of the maximum tariff and the procurement of services by the Public Health Center are planned.
Additionally, as part of the systematic efforts to ensure the sustainability of this area, the new draft law on TB response measures includes a provision of support services and the potential involvement of non-governmental organizations in such activities.
Simultaneously, progress has been made in Ukraine in implementing the Plan for transitioning to state financing of medical-psychosocial support services for people with tuberculosis (support services). Under the political leadership of the Ministry of Health and the Public Health Center, relevant amendments have been made to the government resolution, enabling the procurement of medical-psychosocial support services for people with TB within this program. The corresponding budgetary allocation has been included in the Ministry of Health's budget for the implementation of this initiative this year.
We congratulate our Ukrainian colleagues on this significant step in fulfilling the social order and expanding the involvement of civil society and communities in providing services to people with TB!
