The TB Europe Coalition participated in the European Respiratory Patient Academy, which took place in Prague (Czech Republic) from 13 to 16 November 2025.
TBEC Chair of the Board Paul Sommerfeld joined the steering committee
and served as a facilitator for the event. In addition, the Academy was
attended by TBEC Executive Director Yuliia Kalancha, Board Member Oхana Rucsineanu, as well as other members of the TBEC.
Forty-five participants from European countries—six of which are affected by tuberculosis—learned about:
• How patients can shape research agendas
that reflect real-life needs
• Opportunities to influence policy to ensure equitable access to quality care
• Key aspects of confident and effective advocacy based on collaboration and
shared goals
The Academy represents an important step toward building a strong respiratory community ready to drive change across Europe!
