On 6 October 2026, the TB Europe Coalition held the second meeting of its Oversight Advisory Committee (OAC) this year.
The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming TBEC Board elections, the findings of the assessment of the Coalition’s strategy implementation, its external positioning, and the implications of changes in the international development assistance and funding landscape.
One of the key topics was preparations for the TBEC Board elections. OAC members reviewed the proposed election procedure and timeline and discussed ways to attract candidates to the new Board.
As part of the discussion on TBEC’s strategy implementation and future priorities, participants considered the main findings and recommendations from the assessment, as well as the Board’s position following its review. Particular attention was given to the Coalition’s future areas of work and the issues on which OAC’s recommendations and advisory support could be most valuable.
Another item on the agenda focused on TBEC’s external positioning and the value of partnership. OAC members discussed the Coalition’s distinctive strengths, how effectively its expertise and added value are communicated to potential partners and donors, and opportunities to strengthen external communications and partnership development approaches.
The meeting also addressed changes in the international development assistance and funding architecture. OAC considered their potential implications for the TB response and civil society, with particular attention to trends relevant to Eastern Europe and Central Asia and their significance for TBEC’s future development and activities.
These discussions formed part of the ongoing work to define the Coalition’s strategic direction, strengthen its role in regional advocacy, and develop partnerships amid a changing funding landscape.
The next OAC meeting is scheduled for spring 2027.
