On 16 February, TB Europe Coalition Chair of the Board Paul Sommerfeld gave a speech at the webinar «Good Practices and Ensuring Prevention & Care for People on the move».
The webinar was hosted by the EU Civil Society Forum on behalf of the EU Health Policy Platform on HIV, TB and Viral Hepatitis and will feed in the drafting of a joint statement highlighting good and promising practices to be scaled up.
Mr. Sommerfeld, in his speech, shared information on good practices that increase the contribution of civil society and communities to TB treatment and prevention, namely:
Standardized Package of Community-Based Support Services provided at the local community level;OneImpact digital platform, which is successfully used by TB services in several countries, and is particularly effective in Ukraine;portable X-ray equipment with artificial intelligence that CSOs can use in the field.The speaker also stressed the importance of achieving continuity of TB treatment for refugees from Ukraine in Europe and voiced relevant recommendations for the EU and Western Europe.
