An assessment of satisfaction among people affected by tuberculosis with the health and social services they receive has been launched in the Republic of Moldova. The study aims to identify barriers to accessing healthcare, assess patients’ experiences across all stages of TB treatment, and develop evidence-based recommendations to improve the quality, accessibility and people-centredness of TB services.
To date, the study protocol has been developed and approved by the ethics committee. The interview questionnaire has also been developed, pre-tested and approved, and data collection has begun.
The assessment is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Its findings will help decision-makers, healthcare providers and civil society organisations strengthen the national TB care system and improve treatment outcomes in Moldova.
The assessment is being conducted by SMIT and the PAS Center, with support from the TB Europe Coalition and funding from the Global Fund Community Engagement Strategic Initiative.
