Nomination Call for TBEC Board Member Position

Dear TBEC members,

Following the recent elections to the TBEC Board, one of the newly elected members, Liliana Caraulan, has moved to a position with the Stop TB Partnership and, per their guidelines, had to resign from her role on the Board.

At its recent meeting, the Board reviewed the most effective way to fill this interim vacancy. As per our statutory documents, on this occasion, the Board decided that it is not necessary to hold a full election but that all TBEC members should have an opportunity to suggest candidates to be considered by the Board. It will then be the Board that decides which candidate will be appointed to complete Liliana's term of office for 2,5 years (i.e. Until the next full election which will be due in the first months of 2027).

As this process of appointment is different to a full election, the Board felt it would be helpful for them to use a set of criteria when considering candidates, and these are set out as part of the information below.

TBEC Board members play a pivotal role in overseeing TBEC’s strategic, operational, and financial direction, ensuring civil society’s voice remains central in driving the TB response across the region.
