On 11 November 2025, an international webinar dedicated to multisectoral engagement to address the social determinants and key drivers of the tuberculosis epidemic took place. This was the second webinar in a three-part global webinar series organized in an interactive format by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the TB Europe Coalition (TBEC).
The webinar brought together over 200 participants, including representatives of NTPs, ministries, civil society organizations, communities, WHO country and regional offices, donors, and other stakeholders from different regions. They learned how strengthened collaboration across the social protection, labour, justice and nutrition sectors can accelerate progress towards ending TB.
The event was opened with inspiring remarks by Hannah Monica Dias, Crosscutting Lead – TB & Multisectoral engagement, WHO Department for HIV, TB, Hepatitis & STIs. Following this, Kerri Viney, Team Lead – HIV, TB, Hepatitis, STIs-associated comorbidities and drivers, WHO Department for HIV, TB, Hepatitis & STIs, provided an overview of advancing implementation of the WHO Guidelines on TB drivers and determinants.
After a short interactive Q&A session, participants heard presentations from speakers during the panel discussion “Joining forces across sectors to advance action on the drivers and determinants of the TB epidemic”:

- Preventing and managing TB in prisons in Azerbaijan: A multisectoral approach with the justice sector – Faxriyya Huseynova, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Main Medical Department, Ministry of Justice, Azerbaijan
- Strengthening civil society collaboration for MAF-TB to ensure no one is left behind – Ida Léa Savadogo/Yugbare, WHO Civil Society Task Force Member, Program Officer / Technical Assistance, Access to Essential Medicines Network (RAME), Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
The event concluded with an interactive discussion moderated by Yuliia Kalancha, Executive Director, TB Europe Coalition.
