The
article explores approaches to eradicating tuberculosis in five Eastern
European and Central Asian countries by 2030, with a particular focus
on the implementation of the WHO Multisectoral Accountability Framework
to end TB (MAF-TB). The authors analyze how various sectors can
collaborate to enhance accountability and improve the effectiveness of
TB response measures.
The
study examines existing barriers and opportunities for collaboration
between different sectors, including healthcare, social protection, and
education, to strengthen TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Additionally, the authors provide recommendations for reinforcing
accountability mechanisms and cross-sectoral cooperation, which could
lead to a more effective implementation of TB control strategies in the
region.
This
research is particularly relevant for public health professionals,
policymakers, civil society representatives, TB-affected communities,
and all stakeholders committed to improving TB response efforts through
enhanced multisectoral collaboration and accountability.
