Collaboration with parliamentarians and their support for civil society in the fight against TB is an important advocacy resource at both the country and regional levels.
The importance of enhancing coordination and communication within the partnership between the TB Europe Coalition and the Global TB Caucus was discussed during an online meeting between Yuliia Kalancha and Matt Oliver.
In particular, the organization leaders discussed the possibility of joining efforts to:
- Implement a Multisectoral Accountability Framework to accelerate progress to end TB (MAF-TB),
- Adapt the Standardized Package of community based Support Services provided at the community level to improve TB treatment and prevention outcomes,
- Advocate for access to TB treatment in Western European countries,
- Facilitate the implementation of other key provisions of the Political Declaration on TB.
We continue to work towards strengthening trust and mutual understanding between civil society and members of parliament, so that together we can bring closer the elimination of TB!
