CSOs and community representatives are successfully engaged in the work of the CCM in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan

Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have successfully implemented the activities to meaningfully engage community and civil society representatives in the electoral process to the Country Coordination Mechanism (CCM).
As a technical assistance provider under the CRG short-term assistance project, TBEC supported the development of countries' community candidate election procedures, election plans, communication guidelines, and community mapping of key populations.
It is important to note that as a result of these activities in Uzbekistan, the quota of CCM members from the civil sector was increased, which made it possible for representatives of the two communities to join its work, and in Tajikistan, half of the CCM members from civil society and communities were re-elected.
