Consultative workshop on community engagement in the GF funding request development held in Moldova

From 22 to 24 June 2026, Moldova hosted a consultative workshop on participatory planning focused on engaging communities and civil society organizations in the development of the country's Global Fund Grant Cycle 8 (GC8) funding request.

Over the course of few days, representatives of TB-affected communities and civil society organizations discussed the priority areas to be reflected in the upcoming funding request, the role of community-based interventions, the sustainability of TB programmes, and the key steps needed to ensure a smooth transition following the end of Global Fund financing.

Participants reviewed the implementation of TB interventions under national programmes and previous Global Fund grants, identified the services that should be maintained and further strengthened, and discussed proposals for the 2027–2030 Transition Plan.

The workshop provided an opportunity for community representatives to share their experiences, concerns, and recommendations, helping to ensure that the proposed priorities accurately reflect the needs of people affected by TB. The outcomes of the discussions will contribute to the national funding request development process and support the sustainability of community-led TB interventions.

The workshop was organized by the National TB Civil Society Platform (Platforma OSC TB+), coordinated by the Society Against Tuberculosis of Moldova (SMIT), with the support of the TBEC and other partners, through co-financing provided under the Global Fund Community Engagement Strategic Initiative.
