CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
2-day in-person Peer-Led TB Support Workshop
Location: Oslo, Norway
Dates: 19-20 May 2026
Event language: English
Background
Peer-led support is increasingly recognised as an important part of people-centred and rights-based TB care, helping to strengthen treatment adherence, wellbeing and access to services. In this context, peer-led support refers to support delivered by trained TB survivors or peers with lived experience, providing practical guidance, encouragement and help in navigating TB care. Across the WHO European Region, countries are at very different stages of developing, implementing and sustaining peer-led TB support - from established survivor-led models to early exploration of how peer support could work within national TB responses.
In 2026, LHL International Tuberculosis Foundation, in partnership with the TB Europe Coalition (TBEC) and Latvian Society against Tuberculosis (LTBAB), will convene a 2-day in-person Peer-Led TB Support Workshop in Oslo, Norway, bringing together civil society organisations, TB survivor groups, and national TB stakeholders to exchange experience, address practical and system-level challenges, and strengthen peer-led TB support across countries. The workshop is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services.
The workshop aims to:
- Increase knowledge and shared understanding of the role and value of peer-led TB treatment support as part of people-centred care.
- Equip participants with practical approaches, tools and examples to design, initiate, strengthen or scale peer-led support in their national contexts.
- Strengthen collaboration between National TB Programmes (NTP), civil society organisations and TB survivor groups around peer support.
- Co-develop a draft framework and initial roadmap for a potential cross-border digital peer support network for people affected by TB in the WHO European Region.
Who should apply?
Applications are invited from individuals who:
- represent a country in the WHO European Region,
- are engaged in TB-related work within community-based, survivor-led or civil society organisations,
- have working proficiency in spoken English to actively participate in discussions.
Applicants are invited to apply under one of two tracks:
TRACK A - Advanced/Implementers
For applicants who:
- already implement peer-led TB support, and
- are working or worked to strengthen, formalise, integrate or scale this practice within the TB system.
Participants in this track are expected to contribute practical experience and lessons learned, including challenges faced and solutions tested.
TRACK B - Starters/No practice yet
For applicants who:
- do not yet implement peer-led TB support, but
- intend to start within the next 12 months or are actively exploring how to do so.
Participants in this track are expected to bring clarity on barriers, system constraints and readiness to act, even if practice has not yet begun.
Selection process:
Applications will be reviewed using a transparent, track-specific assessment approach:
- Advanced and Starter applications are assessed within their own track only and are not compared directly.
- Selection is based on programme fit, learning value and readiness, not organisational size or seniority.
A balanced group of participants will be selected to ensure diversity of countries, perspectives and levels of experience.
Please note that all costs related to participation in the workshop will be covered by the organizers.
How to apply?
Interested applicants are invited to complete the online application form by March 10.
Following the review process, only selected applicants will be contacted after March 24.
